The Ultimate Top Sportsman Engine!

This high performance drag racing engine starts with a Donovan aluminum block with a 11.625" deck height with a +.400" raised big cam core and off-set lifter bushings. It is a 4.600" bore with a special partial solid block at the bottom to facilitate stroke clearance. A Callies crank with a 5.300" stroke starts out the bottom end and connects the GRP rods to a set of Schmidt/JE pistons using Total Seal Piston Rings.

A Comp Cams Big Cam core with the 4 & 7 firing order swap handles the timing duties and is connected to an MSD distributor made special for the 11.600" deck height. An MSD Crank trigger and wires handles the firing of this bad boy. A set of Schmidt/Pro-Filer 12° cylinder heads with Manley custom titanium valves, retainers and locks start off the top end of this monster. They are hooked up to an HRE (Schmidt Designed) sheet metal manifold and that is topped off with two Quick Fuel Pro Stock Style Dominator Carburetors. A Moroso oil pump and dry sump oil pan connected to a Stef oil tank keeps everything lubed.
