Video: Audi e-Tron Concept road test

The Audi E-tron concept is still fresh in our memories from it’s Frankfurt debut and then Los Angeles premier here in the U.S. While the German automaker plans on producing only 1,000 units in their first run for 2012, at the moment there is only one e-Tron in existence, and the best part is that it is fully functional. From the futuristic dash to the variable air scoop that cools the batteries, every aspect of the e-Tron concept works.
One lucky automotive journalist from the L.A. Times had the opportunity to actually climb into the battery electric super car and take it for a quick spin around the winding mountain roads just outside the city. The E-tron concept is powered by a purely electric drive system that consists of four individual motors, two at the front and two more at the rear of the bright orange BEV. All together the electric motors combine to create a maximum output of 313 HP and an astounding 3,319.03 lb-ft of torque propelling the E-tron from 0 to 60 MPH in a very appropriate 4.8 seconds. With almost every example destined for collectors and celebrities, it is very unlikely that you will see the inside of an e-Tron anytime in the near future.
